Breast Implants Expanders

I had a mastectomy 6 months ago and I’m not yet used to the sensation of the implant. When will I feel normal?

I am 33 years old and I had a mastectomy (because of breast cancer) 6 months ago using a permanent tissue expander below the main chest muscle. Thus, the muscle needed to be relocated. However, I’m not still used to the feeling of the “new breast” and whenever I develop any kind of pressure with my hand, I feel a breast discomfort and pressure as well. Will I get used to the new data or will I have to live like that (always sensing the “fake” breast?) Only serious answers please! Personal or medical experience would be appreciated! Thank you!

It takes a relatively long time…I speak from personal experience. I, too, thought it would never feel natural…and it took over one year if not longer. Even today, 10 years later, I feel a tightness in that area, as if my muscles were too short! Oh, well, it beats the alternative.
